Some events of 2009

In January H.A.R.P. (the band in which Timo has played the longest during his career) threw its first gig after a 13-year-break. The line-up was otherwise the same as when the band left for a break in 1995, but Jyrki Tomminen had joined the band as the new singer / harpist. For more info, check out H.A.R.P.īs MySpace page.

In March Timo had the honor to play with the legendary drummer Billy Cobham. The event in question was the publishing gig of "Make my day" record by Tuppu Orrenmaa's band here in Finland. In addition to Cobham, one of the world's best know horn sections, namely "Tower of Power", plays on the record. The line-up for the publishing gig was: Billy Cobham drums, Tuppu Orrenmaa gtr, Rob Dominis keys, Timo Pratskin keys, Jukka Korpela bass, Verneri Pohjola trumpet, Ilmari Pohjola trombone ja Marko Portin baritone sax. During July and August Timo participated in a music play based on Janis Joplin's biography / life story and music, directed by Susanna Haavisto and written by Peter Snickars. The main role was played by Marjo Leinonen and the supporting roles by Peter Kanerva and Leena Nuora. Lauri Porra acted as the conductor and the bassist of a band consisting of six musicians, in addition to him they were: Santeri Saksala (drums), Timo Pratskin (keyboards), Tuomas Wäinölä / Timo Kämäräinen (guitar), Janne Huttunen / Jukka Uljas / Robert Löfstedt (saxophone) and Tero Lindberg / Janne Toivonen / Jukka Tiirikainen (trumpet). The performances took place at the Jyväkylä Festival (Jyväskylän kesä) and in Backas Puimala, Vantaa.

This past year Timo also threw gigs with MudCake. This band was put together at the end of 2008, the musicians playing in MudCake include: Jyrki "Muta Manninen (Wishbone Ash) gtr, Timo Pratskin keys, Anssi Känsälä voc, Marko Karhu gtr / voc, Mikko Yli-Knuuttila bass / voc and Kai Jokiaho drums. The music played by the band consists of pieces by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Allman Brothers, Stevie Wonder, ZZ Top, Whitesnake, Rick Derringer, Led Zeppelin, John Fogerty, Free and Gavin DeGraw, among others.
