Some events of 2008

In August Timo did some overdubs for Tuppu Orrenmaa's forthcoming CD. He played a few organ tracks without solos on pieces that had otherwise been recorded earlier this year, during the spring and the summer. The line-up playing on Orrenmaa's CD is: Tuppu Orrenmaa,
Billy Cobham, Tower of Power, Pekka Pohjola, Rob Dominis and Timo Pratskin. The CD will be released in 2009.

Timo also performed at the Art Goes Kapakka festival in a group called The Kiertueorkesteri. Headed by Panu Syrjänen, the band had put together a special program for the festival, titled "Most hated love songs". True to the title, the band played love songs, and a famous Finnish artist, "Hector", recited texts during and between the songs, and played the percussions. The other members of the band included: Jarmo Nikku (guitar), Okko Laru (drums), Matti Maijanen (bass), Panu Syrjänen (saxophone and arrangement), Matti Lappalainen (trombone) and Janne Toivonen (trumpet).

During October and December Timo participated in a music play based on Janis Joplin's biography / life story and music, directed by Susanna Haavisto and written by Peter Snickars. The main role was played by Marjo Leinonen and the supporting roles by Peter Kanerva and Leena Nuora. Lauri Porra acted as the conductor and the bassist of a band consisting of six musicians, in addition to him they were: Santeri Saksala (drums), Timo Pratskin (keyboards), Tuomas Wäinölä / Timo Kämäräinen (guitar), Janne Huttunen / Jukka Uljas / Robert Löfstedt (saxophone) and Tero Lindberg / Janne Toivonen / Jukka Tiirikainen (trumpet). The performances mostly took place at the Live Club Apollo in Helsinki, and Club Flamingo in Vantaa. Other places where the play was performed include Kuopio, Kuusankoski, Joensuu and Mikkeli; these performances took place in concert halls.

In addition, during this year Timo threw a club gig with Frank Robson, the singer of the legendary Tasavallan Presidentti band. In addition to Timo and Frank, the band included Leevi Leppänen on the drums, Panu Syrjänen on the sax, Juha Verona on the bass and Harri Louhensuo on the guitar.
