Some events of 2006

In March 2006 Dr.Helander & His Medicine Men released their first Cd
" Freedom music ".

Timo produced " Freedom music" together with Esa Kuloniemi. This Blues record features Timo on keyboards, guitar, percussions and drums. In addition to arranging the music for several of the included pieces Timo also composed some of the songs together with Dr.Helander. The Cd has received excellent reviews around the world. Dr.Helander & His Medicine Men also did some gigs during 2006, and performed for example at Malmitalo, Helsinki and Lahti Blues & Roots festivals.

During 2006 Timo threw a few gigs with the Jarmo Hynninen Band (featuring Dana Fuchs , USA and Bill Öhström, SWE) and Husband. Husband performed for example at the Järvenpää Puistoblues festival and in the Jyväskylä Jazz Bar.

Pepe Ahlqvist R & B band threw several gigs, at Rauma blues, Korppoo Sea Jazz and Lahti Blues & Roots festivals, among others. Timo has been a member of the band ever since it was formed (2005).

At the end of the year Timo performed in Heavy Xmas show. The show consisted of music and songs by Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, System Of Down, Sting and the Beatles, among others. Other members of the performing band included Lauri Porra on bass, Tuomas Wäinölä on guitar and Santeri Saksala on drums. The show featured Tuomas Uusitalo, Puntti Valtonen, Toni Wahlström, Juha Veijonen, Sari Ann Moilanen and Outi Alanen, all first class actors / comedians in Finland. The same show will be on stage again at the end of 2007.

In September Timo played the keyboards on Rekku Rechard's solo album. " Rekku " is a guitarist of the legendary Finnish band called Wigwam. The Cd will be released on February 2007.

In December Timo participated in the recording of Richard Hallebeek's and Antti Kotikoski's forthcoming Cd. Collaboration with Richard and Antti began already in 1998, when Timo performed together with them during three consecutive years. The first recordings for the above mentioned Cd Timo did already during fall 2005.

In addition, for Timo the year 2006 included some studio sessions and a TV performance, a concert titled "Henki Kulkee", conducted by Edu Kettunen and Jarmo Nikku, a friend whom Timo has played together with already in H.A.R.P.
